Awesome is the word! We went as a family with elders and kids. Its a perfect beach for family fun. I'm not sure if I can enjoy this beach on a hot sunny day. But on the day we visited the weather was just perfect for beaches in FL. We spent almost 4 hours in the water. Played sand ball fights, dug the sand, built castles, rested and fought the waves again and again and again till we were all exhausted! It was such FUN

Short walk to the beach(beautiful white sand) but we found out taking the car to the beach was the best for us.
Nice restaurants just outside the front gate with plenty of shopping close by.
Excellent State Park! This is one of our favorites. The sites are roomy, there is vegetation between them, the staff is very nice and helpful, the location is fantastic, and the beach is one of the best in Florida! There are also many great restaurants near here, a Walmart across the highway, fun vacation activities nearby, etc. What else is there?!?! The staff has made great progress in cutting back the vegetation, which had started encroaching into the sites. There is a little noise from US-98, but overall this is still up there in the top 10 of all State Parks (#2 in our book)! If you want to stay over a holiday weekend, you'll need to make reservations as soon as the books open (11 months prior) or you'll never get in.
Great place. Very clean and family friendly. The ocean is very blue and beautiful. We even got to see a couple of stingrays. They put up flags to indicate whether or not the surf is ok to swim in. We could also walk feom our campsite to the beach. The only downside is that there is no sewer, but you have to expect that in a state park. I would recommend to all.
It's the beach with green sea and white sands, I loved it. The access free is $6 per small vehicles with some limitation on Max passengers but it's good for a family. Also you can do re-entry the same day with the pass. The restrooms are clean and good amount of parking place even for RVs.
