Camp Gulf was our family getaway spot for many spring breaks and summer vacations. The place is fantastic for a week or two away from Michigan. Full RV hook ups, very nice camp store and rec center, and parking right in the sand on the gulf make this place A+. There is nothing better than opening the door on the RV at 7AM to a Florida sunrise and the ocean less than 100 feet away.
We rented one of the cabins. It was good for a short 2 night stay for 6 adults, but the loft area sleeping was not ideal for adults. I would recommend no more than 4 adults when staying in the cabins if you are looking for comfort.
I've done three six weeks trips across the country. I have stayed in so many RV resorts I can't even remember some of them. But this one stands out above all of them. It is the best RV Resort I've ever stayed at and the people are Fan-Tastic. They greet you help you park your RV the courteous fair and the place is off the chain.
Camp Gulf is an excellent campground. The staff is helpful and friendly and you are right on the beach. The restrooms were roomy and always clean. Each room in the bath house has a shower, sink and toilet. Plenty of privacy. The clubhouse has activities and was very nice. The laundry is climate controlled and has lots of washers and dryers.
Camp Gulf exceeded our expectations! We looked at Airbnb in the area but they seemed to be rented by realtor/travel agencies and were ridiculously expensive. Camp Gulf had reasonable rates and you got more bang for your buck. We rented the pet friendly Oaks cabin which was fully stocked with the basics for your stay. The cabin was absolutely charming and private. You also had access to all amenities, facilities, and activities on the camp ground and of course the beach. Everyone we met, whether staff or other campers, were so nice. We definitely plan on making this a regular vacation spot and hope to stay longer next time. I can't express fully how much we enjoyed our stay and recommended everyone stay here when travelling in the Destin area.
